Science and Spirit.
Two Worlds. One Conversation.
Many of us sense there is more to life than an accidental occurrence that produced the material universe. But intelligent people who seek spiritual growth and understanding want answers beyond the traditional “magical” explanations of organized religion and new age thought.
The challenge: scientific fact and spiritual truth seem to be like oil and water. They don’t seem to mix. We relate to science through our mind and validate it with our senses. Meanwhile, spirit dwells in our heart, relying on only faith to sustain it. Both are very real.
Yet independent thinkers face a challenge when trying to reconcile rational thought with spiritual beliefs. If they’re both “right,” then why don’t they somehow fit together more easily?
What if there were a way to bridge scientific thought and spiritual discovery? What becomes possible when we learn to connect these disparate but compelling aspects of our lives?
A little about me:
my name is Jul Bystrova and I love to have conversations about these subjects.
I am a Activist, Holistic Practitioner, Researcher, Speaker, Teacher, Writer/Poet and Performance Artist. I grew up in a science oriented household and studied physics, astronomy, biology and philosophy as well as the major world religions. I created a curriculum to study science, philosophy, religion and spirituality at the graduate level under brilliant philosopher Philip Clayton and had the priviledge of meeting with and studying some of the top thinkers in the world today.
More importantly, I’m just a curious human who is fascinated by both the inner and outer worlds, who feels humbled by the grand mystery of it all, and certainly doesn’t think I know a whole lot. Nonetheless, I do believe it is through dialogue that we grow our awareness and help open our minds and hearts. Also, helping each other integrate our rational mind and spiritual core increases understanding, inspiration and joy!
Through this activity, I join the countless others who are doing what we can to shift consciousness to a way that is in tune with nature and a more connected way of being.
